Aussies Encouraged To Make Tracks To Queenstown This Winter
Destination Queenstown launches a new winter marketing campaign in east coast Australia this week showcasing the resort as an unbeatable winter holiday destination and providing compelling reasons to visit.
The eight-week print and online campaign, predominantly geared towards families and groups, starts on 10 April and has a strong focus on Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne markets.
The campaign was developed with partnership support from Air New Zealand, Queenstown Airport Corporation and Tourism New Zealand and is designed to complement and leverage national marketing efforts in Australia.
Destination Queenstown also has a lead role in the Ski Tourism Marketing Network's online and print campaign aimed at Australian skiers and, for the second year, is a sponsoring partner of the innovative youth-focused Diaries Down Under video blog series (www.diariesdownunder.com/) which showcases what's hot on and off the slopes.
Destination Queenstown General Manager of Marketing Graham Budd believes that on the back of strong in-market messaging, the record 32 direct trans-Tasman flights to Queenstown a week up 25 percent on last year will be a strong incentive for east coast Australians to visit this winter.
"Queenstown is a world-renowned lake and alpine destination with plenty of activities on and off the mountain and fantastic apres-ski atmosphere, making it an unbeatable international winter holiday experience. In just three hours Aussies can find themselves a whole world away tearing up the slopes or relaxing and soaking up the views.
"In Queenstown you'll never run out of things to do just the time to do them in. Whether you're after an adrenaline fix, some R and R, a group holiday or a romantic getaway there's plenty for all ages and budgets to choose from. For those days when you want some time off the ski fields, you can bungy, take a jet boat ride, play a round of golf, soak in the hot pools, and enjoy the award-winning food and wine at our many cafes, restaurants and bars all within minutes of the town centre," he says.
