Trustee re-appointments confirmed
The Top Energy Consumer Trust has announced the re-appointment of two Trustees to its Board, taking effect from 1 April 2011. They are Robin Shepherd (Kaitaia) and Maurice Penney (Pakaraka).
The Trust Deed governing the Top Energy Consumer Trust sets out a process for the selection of Trustees. This involves the Trust appointing an independent personnel consultant, who shortlists publicly called for nominees, then presents them to a selection panel made up of the Members of Parliament for Northland (John Carter), Te Tai Tokerau (Hone Harawira) and the Chairman of the Northland Regional Council (Craig Brown), which makes the final selection.
The appointments follow the retirement by rotation of Messers Shepherd and Penney who, being entitled, offered themselves for re-selection.
According to Trust Secretary, Steve James, there were a good number of Trustee nominations received following the publicly advertised positions last December and a shortlist of very capable and experienced people was advanced for final selection.
Messers Shepherd and Penney re-join Yvonne Sharp (Kerikeri), Colin Kitchen (Doubtless Bay) and Hone Mihaka (Kaikohe) to make up the Trust’s full Board of Trustees.
