Vensa Health appoints two key executives
Auckland, Thursday 31 March 2011 – Auckland-based mobile health provider Vensa Health today announced two key executive appointments. Cornelius Dirven has been appointed as National Sales Director and Anossis Oliveira as General Manager ICT.
In announcing the new appointments Ahmad Jubbawey, Chief Executive, Vensa Health said, “It’s fantastic to have attracted such talent to the company as we continue to grow from strength to strength. Our vision is to be a leading player in the global mHealth market. Having the right team on board will help us achieve our goal.”
Cornelius Dirven has spent his entire career in the health sector, initially as a medical laboratory technologist in Holland and New Zealand, followed by a period in health insurance, and most recently eight years in Health IT. Prior to Vensa Health he was Sales Director at HealthLink and was responsible for managing the relationships with more than 3,000 GPs, Primary Healthcare Organisations, District Health Boards, and other healthcare providers within the New Zealand health sector.
Anossis Oliveira has over 15 years’ experience developing and implementing complex ICT solutions. In 1995 he founded a software development company in Brazil, which he grew to a network of 50 dealers and 3000 customers, and sold in 2003. He then migrated to New Zealand and worked as a software development consultant. His most recent role was at Telecom NZ performing end-to-end business analysis. Anossis holds a Bachelor of Computer Science from the Federal University of Goias, a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from the University of Auckland, and a number of technical certifications.
On his appointment Cornelius Dirven said, “I am passionate about healthcare and increasing efficiencies in the sector using smart IT solutions. I’m excited to join the team at Vensa Health and look forward to making a positive contribution not only to the company but to the sector also.”
Anossis said, “mHealth is a very exciting and rewarding area. ICT can help make some real healthcare improvements and Vensa Health is a company that is very focused on improving well-being. I’m delighted to be able to bring my skills to bear in IT product development, operations, architecture and strategy.”
Vensa Health’s Txt2Remind practice-patient messaging system helps primary and secondary health providers send mobile text message health appointment reminders and health promotion messages for breast and cervical screening, diabetes and cardiac checks, immunisations, medication reminders, and more direct to patients.
Founded in 2005 Vensa Health has sold its technology into a number of GP practices, specialist clinics and district health boards around New Zealand and is also exploring opportunities in the Middle East, and Asia Pacific.
