Acumen Republic wins MasterCard account

MasterCard Worldwide has appointed Acumen Republic as its New Zealand communications agency.

Acumen Republic will manage MasterCard’s corporate, consumer and government relations, as well as marketing communications activity for its worldwide sponsorship of Rugby World Cup 2011 and its All Blacks sponsorship.

Albert Naffah, Country Manager New Zealand, MasterCard Worldwide, said Acumen Republic stood out in what was a highly competitive pitch.

Naffah said the appointment was part of MasterCard’s commitment to the New Zealand market, and to its sponsorship of Rugby World Cup 2011.

“It is a great way to start the year and significantly adds to our financial services practice,” said Acumen Republic Managing Director Michael Dunlop. “This is a particularly busy year for MasterCard and we are looking forward to this new collaboration.”

Acumen Republic has offices in Auckland, Wellington and Sydney, and with 40 staff is New Zealand’s largest independent corporate and marketing communications agency.
