Jennian Homes Celebrates Success
Jennian Homes has named its top performers for 2010, including Franchise of the Year, New Home Consultant of the Year and Best Supplier.
Franchisees from the deep south to the far north and everywhere in between gathered at a glittering awards ceremony in Auckland at the end of last week to recognise and reward the best of the best.
Jennian Homes director Richard Carver said that in a particularly tough year for the building industry, it was important to celebrate success.
Last year’s winner Jennian Homes Nelson Bays is still among the top-performing three franchises in New Zealand but, along with Jennian Homes Wairarapa, was this year pipped to the post by Jennian Homes Mid-Canterbury.
The successful Ashburton-based franchise is locally owned and operated by Nigel and Anna Smith. It scooped a hat trick of awards including the evening’s most prestigious prize: Jennian Homes Franchise of the Year. The award is based on business and financial benchmarks across all 30 Jennian franchise areas throughout New Zealand, and how well individual businesses rank against them.
Jennian Homes Mid-Canterbury also won two prized sales awards. Grant Love, previously Jennian’s Rookie New Home Consultant of the Year, built on his 2009 success to take the title of Most Improved New Home Consultant. The award is based on the highest percentage increase in sales year on year. Chris Watson achieved the highest percentage of sales above his target to win the top award for New Home Consultant of the Year.
In another win for the mainland, Grant Osmers from Jennian Homes Canterbury was recognised for his continued sales prowess. He secured the highest dollar value for home sales nationally for the second year in a row, retaining the title of Jennian’s Highest Grossing New Home Consultant. The Christchurch-based franchise is owned by Bruce and Sue Maetzig.
This year’s Rookie New Home Consultant of the Year goes to Brian Brewster from Franchise of the Year finalist Jennian Homes Wairarapa. The Rookie award is made to the person with the highest total dollar sales in their first full year with Jennian Homes. The Masterton-based business is locally owned and operated by Gareth Norris.
There was also stiff competition for Supplier of the Year, nominated and decided upon by a ballot of Jennian franchisees. Building supplies merchant Carters headed off finalists Laser Electrical and Aluminium Systems Ltd to take out the award for the second year running.
