P&O Cruises’ Pacific Pearl Returns to New Zealand

P&O Cruises has launched a range of new Pacific Pearl cruises from Auckland in the cruise line’s latest 2012-13 program release, including a 15-night voyage taking in the highlights of Australia’s East Coast.

Priced from NZ$3079 per person twin share, travellers will enjoy an overnight call in Sydney, as well as visits to Newcastle, Whitsundays, Brisbane and Norfolk Island.

Also on offer is a new nine-night cruise to the Pacific islands, visiting Noumea, Lifou, Port Vila and Mystery Island. Departing on April 29, 2013, the cruise is priced from NZ$1639 per person quad share.

Back by popular demand, Pacific Pearl will sail another three-night food and wine-themed cruise in May 2013 as well as a four-night short break cruise from Sydney to Auckland and a 10-night voyage to the Pacific islands calling at Port Vila, Mystery Island, Lifou, Noumea and Isle of Pines.

Cruise fares start from NZ$899 per person twin share for the short break cruise while the 10-night cruise holiday is priced from NZ$1669 per person quad share.

Jenny Lourey, Senior Vice President of Carnival Australia, which operates P&O Cruises, said the new program offered New Zealand cruisers more variety at a more popular time for Kiwis to travel internationally.
“Our research shows more New Zealanders prefer to travel internationally between April and June rather than taking their leave during the busy summer months so we’ve timed Pacific Pearl’s latest cruise season from Auckland to provide passengers with more choice,” Ms Lourey said.
The Australasian program also includes some great cruises from Australia including two special voyages from Sydney in August 2012 to mark 175 years since the Peninsular Steam Navigation Company signed its first contract to deliver mail by sea.
Pacific Pearl and Pacific Jewel will meet in Sydney Harbour on August 22 and set sail in tandem on special heritage cruises, featuring tailored entertainment including a 175th Anniversary Gala dinner, a heritage art display and fascinating guest speakers. Fares on Pacific Pearl start from NZ$1669 per person quad share.

P&O Cruises is also offering travellers front-row seats for the total solar eclipse in November 2012, with two cruises onboard Pacific Jewel and Pacific Dawn from Sydney to the Pacific islands and Queensland to ensure the ships offer the best vantage points in the Coral Sea for the eclipse. Fares on Pacific Dawn’s seven-night cruise start from NZ$1029 per person quad share.
