Great classics, great value wines from Sacred Hill Winery
Sacred Hill has released two new wines into its well-liked Reserve range. The wines are the 2010 Sacred Hill Pinot Gris and 2010 Sacred Hill Marlborough Pinot Noir.
The Sacred Hill Reserve range offers premium quality wines, with fruit for both these varietals being sourced from specially selected vineyard sites in Marlborough. This region enjoyed a particularly good harvest producing grapes which truly reflect the pedigree of each wine.
According to Sacred Hill Senior Winemaker Tony Bish this range of wines consistently over delivers in terms of value for money, with true varietal expression, great texture and a sense of individuality and regional characters.
The 2010 Pinot Gris presents itself with enticing floral aromas of ripe pears, sweet almond, and brioche. The palate is full and fresh with apricot, spicy pear and hints of ginger, leaving a lovely texture of stone fruit finish.
The 2010 Pinot Noir is a lovely ripe and rich expression of a classic vintage. It is a generous and giving wine with finely textured supple tannins which complement the fruit flavours. The aromas are dominated by a medley of ripe dark fruits of black cherry and plum with nuances of chocolate and underlying oak and cedar notes.
"In keeping with previous vintages of these two wines, we have focused on precision viticulture and careful handling in the winery to produce great value wines of integrity and distinction," says Tony.
The 2010 Sacred Hill Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir are available at wine outlets nationwide. RRP $20.90
