New World South City Opens
With the loosening of the cordon around the Four Avenues of Christchurch, New World South City has opened its doors for the first time since the earthquake.
Owner/operator Nigel Bond said that the mall and buildings have been thoroughly inspected by structural engineers and deemed safe.
“We were very fortunate. There was some superficial damage to a few tiles and a couple of minor cracks in the floor. Most damage was to stock which has been replenished.
“At present we have access from Montreal and Wilmer Streets and we are hoping to get access from Colombo St shortly,” he said
The store will be open from 8am - 7pm
