Adventure fisherman’s prized catch on the market

Adventure fisherman’s prized catch on the market

Extreme sports fisherman and TV presenter Matt Watson, the man who shot to fame catching a marlin with his bare hands and went on to establish a popular TV show, is putting the home where it all began on the market.

The three bedroom Bay of Islands home is being marketed by Bayleys – with an auction for the property taking place on Wednesday March 25.

Bayleys salesperson David Baguley said the extreme fisherman’s property reflects Watson’s outdoor nature and lifestyle with hunting and fishing on the doorstep.

The Watson’s have lived in the house for 10 years and have now purchased elsewhere.

The well appointed home is on a 6800 square metre section just three minutes from Takou Bay – a stunning beach where Matt likes to unwind with the family.

“This property offers an amazing opportunity for families that want to enjoy an outdoor lifestyle close to Kerikeri, still in the school zone, but just minutes from one of Northland’s best beaches,” says Mr Baguley.

The two-storeyed home has three bedrooms and two lounges. The master bedroom and family bathroom are on the lower level. A feature staircase leads to the top level with two bedrooms and an open-plan mezzanine floor with a deck area showing off views of Takou Bay and beyond.

Furthermore there is a double garage, guest accommodation with ensuite and a spacious office.
