New Zealand Racing Board appoints interim CEO
The New Zealand Racing Board (NZRB) has appointed Bill Colgan as its interim Chief Executive Officer, following the resignation of current CEO Andrew Brown in January.
Mr Colgan, who is
currently General Manager Racing, takes up this position on
Monday 7 March.
NZRB Chairman, Michael Stiassny, said Mr
Colgan had the requisite skills and experience to lead the
organisation over the coming weeks as the Board continued
the process to recruit a full-time CEO.
"Bill has been with the NZRB since 2005 and is well respected by staff and the racing and wagering industry. He has the right management skills and knowledge to guide the organisation until we appoint a permanent CEO. He will ensure the Board is well positioned to tackle key issues such as perceptions of integrity, increased competition and ongoing pressure on revenue and margins," Mr Stiassny said.
Mr Brown will leave the NZRB today, Friday 4 March. He will remain available to the Board, if required, during a period of garden leave.
Mr Brown intends to return to the UK with his family.
