PORT STARTS MOVING VITAL GOODS 96 HOURS AFTER QUAKE
Lyttelton Port of Christchurch (LPC) would like to advise all customers the port’s core services are operational following the 6.3 magnitude earthquake on Tuesday 22 February 2011
Despite significant damage to port infrastructure and facilities, we were able to resume operations 96 hours after the earthquake struck.
It has taken a huge effort by staff and contractors to ensure the vital goods have been able to get through. Thanks to you all.
Saturday 26 February
The Transfuture 7 arrived this morning with emergency vehicles and carrying 15 pallets of fresh water, donated by Toyofuji Shipping and Maruha NZ Corporation Ltd for the Civil Defence to distribute.
Pacifica Shipping Spirit of Endurance container vessel arrived with medical, food and essential supplies for Christchurch.
Sunday 27 February
Oil Berth
0800 the Turoa will be berthing at the oil berth. We have three further ships scheduled for the next three days.
Containers
Tomorrow we are expecting the Martina at 0430 and the Spirit of Resolution at 1900 with more essential supplies.
Monday 28 February
CityDepot - we expect to commence receival and delivery operations on Monday 28 February.

The Lyttelton road tunnel was re-opened today at 3pm, but only to Lyttelton residents because emergency and essential services were still relying on priority access.
