Harcourts’ Timaru-based franchise honoured

1 February 2011: Harcourts’ Timaru-based franchise was honoured yesterday, receiving a special award in recognition of the company’s 20-year membership of the Harcourts group.

Blackham Boote Real Estate Ltd, which operates Harcourts offices in Timaru, Geraldine, Waimate and Temuka, was one of the first companies to acquire a Harcourts franchise when Harcourts Group Ltd introduced the franchise model, and yesterday the 20-year anniversary of that step was marked.

Business Owner David Blackham, who worked in the insurance industry before joining his father in real estate, says he and his team are proud to be in the Harcourts group and humbled by the special celebration and certificate organised by head office.

“Harcourts has grown significantly since our company became a franchise owner, initially establishing a nationwide presence and in more recent years expanding internationally, and being part of such a go-ahead, industry-leading group during this journey has been great,” he says.

“The strength of the brand, the quality of the technology and other Harcourts tools available along with the training, support, culture and domestic and international network we have is second to none, and has definitely helped ensure my team and I have achieved success.”

Harcourts New Zealand CEO Hayden Duncan says Blackham Boote Real Estate Ltd is an excellent provincial Harcourts’ franchise that has provided 20 years of top quality service in Timaru and districts, making a significant contribution to the Harcourts group.

“Established by father and son team Dick and David Blackham the company is a consistent but quiet achiever in the Harcourts group,” he says.

“Over the past 20 years the company’s owners and their team have done an excellent job representing the Harcourts brand in the course of their work with buyers and sellers in all sectors of the market within their franchise area and via their property management operation and it’s our pleasure at this special milestone in our joint history to honour those efforts.”
