Review of agents’ fees underway
The New Zealand Racing Board (NZRB) is currently conducting a review of the fees paid to TAB agents who operate Class 4 gaming venues on the NZRB’s behalf.
The NZRB has made an error in the TAB agents’ schedule of fees implemented on 13 December 2010. The NZRB is now working with the Department of Internal Affairs to ensure that going forward its schedule of fees complies with the Gambling Act 2003.
As an interim measure while the review is under way, the NZRB has chosen to revert to the schedule of fees that applied prior to 13 December 2010. The NZRB will also reimburse TAB agents any difference between the former and revised fee schedules, backdated to 13 December.
As an additional integrity measure, the NZRB is consulting with the Department of Internal Affairs and implementing a detailed review of the position prior to 13 December 2010. The Board’s purpose is to ensure that going forward it will have a process that is strictly compliant with the Gambling Act 2003.
