Samsung servicing unaffected by Next receivership
There will be little disruption to Samsung New Zealand customers following the announcement this week that local service company Next Electronics Servicing Ltd has been placed into receivership.
The receivership announcement affects only Next Electronics-owned branches – it does not extend to Next agents. Samsung is contacting all agents to establish a direct relationship with them with immediate effect so as to provide ongoing support to consumers.
Service requirements in the Auckland area have not been affected by the receivership. Service will continue to be undertaken by the Samsung Customer Service Plaza, including that which would have previously been carried out by Next Electronics’ Hamilton branch.
Unaffected by the receivership is nationwide service for Samsung monitor, mobile phone and camera products which are handled by the Samsung Customer Service Plaza. Similarly, printers, PC and IT products are not affected by this announcement. Whitegoods products are handled by Next Electronic agents, with whom Samsung is forming direct relationships.
Samsung has also entered into a new agreement with Visual Group to look after Samsung service work that would have previously been carried out at Next’s Wellington, Christchurch and Dunedin branches
Samsung customers who have service requests should contact 0800 SAMSUNG. Retailers with questions are encouraged to contact their local Samsung representative, or phone 0800 SAMSUNG.
