Charlie's wins Hong Kong supermarket order
Charlie's gains Hong Kong supermarket order
Dec. 22 (BusinessDesk) - Juice and soft-drinks company Charlie's Group says it has received its first order from Hong Hong's largest food retailer PARKnSHOP.
It will be trialing its Charlie's and Phoenix Organic products in 60 of more than 230 PARKnSHOP stores over the next three to six months.
Chief executive Stefan Lepionka says the order is a positive step towards a permanent relationship with PARKnSHOP.
“PARKnSHOP sought a meeting with us on a buying visit to New Zealand earlier this year,” Lepionka says.
PARKnSHOP is part of the A S Watson Group which has retail and manufacturing operations in 34 markets worldwide.
In October, Charlie's gained a contract with Australian giant retailer Coles to stock Charlie's Old Fashioned Lemonade and a further 10 of its products in all 750 of its supermarkets in Australia from early November. That followed a trial in 27 Coles stores.
That was a key factor in the company predicting a 43% rise in first-half net profit on a 24% increase in sales.
Charlie's shares last traded unchanged at 18 cents, having traded between 7.5 cents and 19.3 cents over the last 12 months.
