Southern Cross Welcomes Proposed ACC Changes
The not-for-profit Southern Cross Healthcare Group has welcomed today’s ACC announcements, in particular the Government’s decision in principle to allow insurance companies to compete with ACC in providing workplace cover and the proposed extension of the Accredited Employer Programme.
“These moves have the potential to improve service levels and reduce costs for New Zealand businesses. We will be interested to see further details as they become available,” said Southern Cross Healthcare Group CEO Dr Ian McPherson.
A New Zealand organisation founded in 1961, Southern Cross is a third party claims administrator for employers who are accredited under the ACC Accredited Employer Programme.
Southern Cross currently manages claims for over 30,000 employees under this programme.
