Pacific Pearl to Offer P Cruises’ Largest Teen Centre at Sea
P Cruises’ latest ship Pacific Pearl is promising fun for all the family – including teenagers – with the ship sporting
the cruise line’s largest-ever teen centre, specifically designed for 11 to 17 year olds.
Home to two teen clubs, HQ and HQ+, the new centre has been purpose-built for Pacific Pearl and added to its top decks
as part of the ship’s multi-million dollar refurbishment prior to its launch in Auckland on December 21.
Spanning 190 square metres, the designer space features floor-to-ceiling windows with stunning views over the ship’s
wake, along with two giant screens - one for Playstation and one for movies - 21 Playstations, a surround sounds system,
dance floor and custom made deck furniture.
Open until 1am, the HQ Club caters for teenagers aged 11-14 years, while the adjacent HQ + is perfect for 15-17 year
olds.
With families making up one-third of P Cruises’ passengers, Pacific Pearl will offer a total of four kids’ clubs to ensure everyone has a great holiday at
sea. Even better, entry to the clubs is free.
Cruisers as young as three years old can immerse themselves in an ocean of fun in Pacific Pearl’s Turtle Cove Kids Club.
Located on Deck 11 and adjacent to the family deck, the netted safe play area provides fully supervised fun and games
for little guests aged three to six years old.
Qualified youth activity co-ordinators are also in charge in the neighbouring Shark Shack, which caters for kids aged
seven to ten years.
Operating from 9am-10.30pm each sea day with breaks for lunch and dinner, these two youth centres also offer an extended
in-centre kid sitting service from 10.30pm – 1am for a nominal fee.
With plenty of games and activities - from arts and crafts to talent shows, scavenger huts, Playstation competitions and
movie nights, the kids’ clubs are a popular feature onboard all P Cruises’ ships.
“Our goal is to make sure that all the kids onboard have a great time during their holiday, making lots of new friends
and doings lots of fun things,” says P Cruises Director of Entertainment Services Brett Annable.
“As every family knows, if the kids are happy, everyone’s happy, so we see our kids’ clubs as a key part of ensuring
everyone has a fantastic time at sea.”
Pacific Pearl is the first superliner to call New Zealand home. She will commence her inaugural season from Auckland on
December 22.
