Realcold and MHIAA announce winning partnership

MHI distribution points in every major city in New Zealand

Refrigeration and air conditioning wholesalers, Realcold Components are forming a winning partnership with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Air Conditioners Australia Pty. Ltd. (MHIAA).

From 1 January 2011, Realcold will be the wholesale distributor of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) air conditioning products in New Zealand, stocking the brand in its 10 regional outlets. It will be the first time that the products of the global manufacturer are available through distribution points in every major city in New Zealand.

Realcold CEO, Graham Dun explains the significance of the agreement, “The partnership we have developed with MHI marks a major step forward for the industry in New Zealand. Realcold will have access to a full range of MHI world class air conditioning products and MHIAA will access a large customer base, spread throughout New Zealand that has been built up over 50 years.

Previous to this, air conditioning contractors around the country could only source MHI products from Auckland. Now, they will have 10 locations to choose from, meaning greater accessibility, shorter lead times, reduced stock holding, lower transportation costs and added convenience.”

The partnership gives customers a one stop shopping experience, where they can purchase world class air conditioners and at the same time acquire all the related components under the same roof.

MHIAA has had a sales presence in New Zealand since 2005 with sales, account management and technical sales support representatives based in Auckland.

MHIAA Managing Director Masayuki Fujinami says this hands on experience has given the company a good understanding of the New Zealand market, “From doing business here, we knew the market and recognised that there is a need to extend our brand. We have found a market leading company in Realcold, with similar values to our own in technical excellence and customer service. We are excited to know that the MHI product will be available to old and new customers throughout New Zealand.”

Realcold will import air conditioners on a direct shipment basis featuring the DXK series wall split systems.

The Realcold dealerships where MHI products will be available are Whangarei, Hamilton, Palmerston North, Tauranga, Hastings, Wellington, Christchurch, Dunedin, Auckland and North Harbour.
