November Sees Top Entertainment Ratings For TV3
November was the month for entertainment to shine on 3 with local series Outrageous Fortune, 7 Days, and international hit The X Factor Australia achieving a cumulative audience reach of 2,550,100 people (all people 5+).
Outrageous Fortune ended its final season ever on an enormous high, with the highest rating show ever – averaging a whopping 21 rating, and 43.8% average share amongst the 18-49 demographic in November.
Also winning in TV One’s 25-54 demographic, Outrageous Fortune beat the opposition’s offering with an overall rating for the month of 20.8 and a 42.0% share, versus a 7.4 rating and 17.1% share on TV One.
7 Days also pulled in huge numbers ending November with an 11.8 average and 30.6% share in the 18-49 demographic for November.
It also won the month against TV One’s all important 25-54 demographic – averaging an 12.0 rating and 29.5% share versus 5.1 rating and a 14.0% share with TV One’s offerings in the same slot.
Director of Programming, Kelly Martin says the numbers reflect the high calibre of TV3’s broad entertainment offerings.
“Most gratifying for us is that it’s the locally made content that audiences are really responding to. Both Outrageous and 7 Days clearly demonstrate the depth of talent we have in NZ both in front and behind the cameras.”
As well as the local drama and comedy ratings successes, The X Factor Australia also came to an end with viewers finally seeing the forklift driving rocker Altiyan Childs, crowned as the winner.
The series ended overall with an 11.2 rating, and 27.4% share, averaging over 370,000 people each week (5 +). For the month of November it averaged a 10.8 rating and a 28.9% share.
Its final results show where the winner was crowned drew in nearly half a million people (5+).
The show ended on a high with a 13.9 rating and a 39.7% share.
Fans of the show can look forward to seeing Altiyan Childs when he performs at this year’s Coca-Cola Christmas in the Park 2010, screening on TV3, Sunday December 12 at 7.00pm.
