LG introduces its first Android 2.2 Smartphone
Just in time for Christmas, LG Mobile and Google Android are set to connect Kiwi’s in a whole new way, allowing them to access endless information in an instant and be experts in any field they choose.
With the lightest of touches, users can enter the world of Google Android 2.2 through the LG Optimus One, one of the first Android 2.2 Smartphone’s Kiwis will be able to get their hands on.
The Optimus One is the latest handset in LG’s much anticipated Optimus series which allows access to the more than 100,000 applications that the Android marketplace offers.
From social networking to voice recognition, Optimus One offers an endless range of Smartphone capabilities. Combined with the included car cradle and pre-loaded turn-by-turn mapping application powered by N-Drive, Optimus One doubles as a navigation system, all at a ultra competitive $599 RRP.
LG Mobile New Zealand Business Manager, Adam Gordon believes the Optimus One offers the best value the New Zealand Smartphone market has seen.
“LG has established itself as a leader in providing technology that enhances the daily life of the user and the Optimus One is no exception. From the office to the car, to the beach, with instant access to the world of Android, the user can be an expert in any field, at the touch of an icon.
“We are proud to be developing phones that answer the needs of the contemporary consumer, offering access to real time news, weather and personal information updates. Now offering access to navigation functionality that guides the user through life, the Optimus One offers the complete Smartphone experience at a very competitive price point,” said Gordon.
The increased speed of the ever popular Android 2.2 operating system offers a new level in web browsing, with increased speeds through internet browsing and faster performance on applications.
The Optimus One is optimised for Google’s mobile services, linking the user directly with Google’s search engine, email accounts and Google Maps navigation tools.
Entering the world of Android opens the user to an ever growing number of applications. With an expandable memory up to 32GB, the Optimus One will then allow these applications to be saved efficiently onto an SD card, so users can store and use them without affecting the speed of use or system upgrades on their handset.
Android also now offers an application back up system, allowing users to store application data which can then be moved from one handset to another.
With a sleek yet sturdy design and full touch screen capabilities, the Optimus One features up to seven home screens. These screens can be personalised, using movable shortcut keys, allowing each screen to complement a different day of the week or time of the day.
With a 3.2” capacitive touch screen and a 3MP Camera, the Optimus One links smoothly with Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, so users can update, or keep up to date with their friends, anywhere at the touch of a button.
The Optimus One will be available from December 1, complete with the Optimus car cradle and Navigation bundle with a RRP of $599.00.
