High Tech Performance Enhancing Software for Retailers

MEDIA RELEASE
23 NOVEMBER 2010

Retailers to Go High Tech with Innovative Performance Enhancing Software

Cutting-edge technology is set to revolutionise the way retailers set up shop, with new software available that can be used to enhance retail profits through capturing key information and monitoring customer trends.

Developed in Hong Kong, the software called Vizualize, allows retailers to gather a wealth of data which can be used to report the success or failure of a number of retail initiatives.

ADT Armourguard has been granted the sole license to sell the software in New Zealand. There is currently no other comparable programme available in the country.

The company’s Security National Retail Manager, Ben Clement, said the product will provide retailers with information that will allow them to easily identify trends and improve store performance. He said it would also provide consumers with a better shopping experience, as the quality and quantity of data gathered would allow retailers to customise stores to suit customer needs.

“The new software will improve sales performance by helping retailers to better understand the buying habits of customers from the moment they walk in the door.”

Vizualize comprises four software platforms - Intellicount, Intellitrack, Intelliview and Visitortrends. Among other things, they allow retailers to monitor collectively customer numbers and the various pathways they take around a store and how long they spend at specific areas and look at particular display items.

The captured information can then be provided back to the retailer in the form of simple but comprehensive graphs, charts and maps and other reports for easy analysis of trends.

“A good example of this is the way it can monitor occupancy rate. For example, the software can tell a retailer how many people came through the door at a specific time and how many of those people bought something. This can then be used to determine optimum staffing levels and the effectiveness of marketing promotions at attracting customers to the store and converting them to a sale,” he said.

“It can also provide information on how many people are actually walking up areas deemed as prime positions and whether or not those locations are working well.

“The data gathered is presented clearly allowing retailers to easily identify strengths and weaknesses in terms of store performance and the shopping experience.”

Ben said, whilst the product is particularly suited to retailers with more than one retail site, it would also benefit a wide range of retail situations.

ADT Armourguard General Manager, Ian Anderson, said while the company is renowned as a world leader in security solutions, the expansion into store performance solutions is a new one for the organisation.

“We’re constantly on the look out for new and innovative solutions that will complement our core activities. We identified a need in the market and moved to fill that gap with the introduction of Vizualize. This expanded focus reflects the organisation’s move towards offering total store performance solutions to customers.”

ABOUT VIZUALIZE
Intellicount is a sophisticated people counting system. It calculates shopper traffic and provides trends in traffic counts, occupancy and traffic flow.

Intellitrack allows retailers to understand shopper paths to determine hot and cold spots in a store. It also allows the retailer to monitor customers’ dwell and interaction times at various areas in the store. This information can help highlight the effectiveness of marketing and sales campaigns and better understanding buyer behaviour.

Intelliview helps retailers to gain a better understanding of who their customers are and what products they are engaging with and for how long. It allows the retailer to gain market analysis information which can be used to maximize the impact of marketing campaigns, product placement and displays.

Visitortrends collects information from all other Vizualize platforms as well as other compatible platforms and integrates the information into an assortment of graphs, tables, charts and floor mats. It makes it easy to identify shopper trends and anomalies.
