New Chief Executive for Datasouth
Christchurch. 18 September 2010. – Information technology company Datasouth has announced the appointment of Hayley Bryan to a newly created position of Chief Executive.
“Datasouth has reached a stage in its growth where an additional set of leadership skills are needed, and Hayley is perfect for the Chief Executive role,” said Gavin Bennett, Datasouth’s Sydney-based Managing Director.
“Hayley is a proven leader and grower of businesses, with a career that has focussed on helping companies use IT effectively.
“With experience as a business owner she really understands how IT can be applied to make a difference to the efficiency of an organisation, and as a manager has a great ability to build a strong team,” said Mr Bennett.
Ms Bryan, a co-founder of Christchurch computer company Insite Technology (later sold to Renaissance Corporation), joined Datasouth as sales director in August.
After beginning her career as an electronics technician with the DSIR, Ms Bryan worked for several IT providers, including stints in the UK with multinational corporations, before founding Insite.
Datasouth has a huge opportunity in the current market shift, said Ms Bryan. “That companies are shifting more of their computing off their premises to online hosting services is a game shifter for our industry.
“It’s not just about reducing IT costs, which are typically a relatively small part of an organisation’s overall spend, but the ability to transform the productivity of staff by giving them better access to a greater range of smart tools.
“Most CFOs and CEOs I talk to are much more interested in a 20% productivity gain than only saving a few dollars on their computers.”
IT companies able to provide the advice and services to help companies realise the potential of cloud computing will prosper in this environment, Ms Bryan said.
