Liquidators report Strong interest in E-Gas Business
The Liquidators of retail gas provider E-Gas have received a number of offers from parties interested in purchasing the business and are currently assessing those offers.
Jeff Hart, spokesperson for the joint liquidators, Stephen Tubbs, Brian Mayo Smith and Jeff Hart of BDO Chartered Accountants, said: “Given the interest in the business, we are confident of achieving a trade sale in the near future.
“Currently, we are working to ensure that there are no potential issues for E-Gas customers and that the offers provide customers with certainty of supply.”
Mr Hart said that the liquidators were heartened by the ongoing cooperation and commitment they have received from participants in the gas distribution chain to the process. This meant that E-Gas customers remained unaffected by the liquidation process and were not disadvantaged.
“We have made significant progress towards achieving our objectives; there has been no disruption to customers and their gas supply, and we are confident we will achieve an outcome that will preserve the assets and value of the E-Gas business,” Jeff Hart said.
