AGATHA Paris 1st Runner Up at the New Zealand TOP SHOP Retail Excellence Awards
AGATHA Paris, the iconic French jewellery brand that fuses the fashionable with the affordable was 1st Runner Up in the Fashion, Footwear and Accessories category at the New Zealand TOP SHOP Retail Excellence Awards last night at the Sky City Convention Centre in Auckland.
AGATHA sparkled through stiff competition and a bumper number of entrants this year.
“We are absolutely delighted” says the New Zealand boutique co-owner Mitchell Grant. “The team did most of the work by oozing amazing customer service and the beautiful Parisian boutique on Vulcan Lane and gorgeous French fashion jewellery did the rest – just a few reasons why AGATHA is so popular with New Zealand women and the judges.”

About AGATHA Paris:
A slice of Parisian style is showing itself off in the heart of Auckland’s fashion district. AGATHA Paris – the iconic French jewellery brand that fuses the fashionable with the affordable – has opened its first Australasian boutique in Auckland Central’s Vulcan Lane.
Nestled beside World (Beauty) and across the lane from Zambesi, AGATHA’s opulent blue boutique showcases the fashion-inspired pieces that have made AGATHA Paris perennially popular with fashionistas around the world for 35 years.
The Auckland boutique will boasts more than 600 bracelets, necklaces, earrings, charms, hair accessories, watches, rings, pendants, broaches and accessories, with the numbers growing as subsequent collections are added every two months.
“AGATHA Paris is about giving women the freedom to express themselves from day to day with quality pieces that don’t cost the earth. The jewellery skips from playful and witty to chic and stylish. The collections are designed so women can own multiple pieces and mix and match them to what they are wearing or how they are feeling,” says Mitchell Grant, boutique co-owner.
AGATHA's six annual collections reflect current runway trends from the big fashion houses. Staying true to the essence of AGATHA’s personality, the fresh, innovative deigns have won a reputation for being edgy and relevant and making couture style affordable for the masses.
Frolicking through the collections is AGATHA’s mascot – a delightful Scottie dog. This stylish signature pooch has found his way onto key pieces in each collection in different playful ways since 1989 and has won a place in the hearts of AGATHA girls worldwide.
AGATHA Paris is also well known for its popular La Boutique Des Charms (www.la-boutique-des-charms.com). Choose a base bracelet, necklace or broach, and then add charms from a collection of more than 100 that spans from rock guitars and stiletto heels to Eiffel Towers and champagne flutes.
AGATHA Paris is the vision of Michael Quiniou who created the brand and opened the first Parisian store in 1974 with the goal of building a quality collection that would allow fashion forward women of all means to have a little bit of couture in their closet.
Today, after Quiniou stepped aside in 2006, AGATHA is headed by former Cartier Managing Director Laurent Nebot and has 280 boutiques worldwide which sell more than 1,000 AGATHA designs every hour.
“It is wonderful to be bringing a slice of Parisian style – along with a large helping of AGATHA’s chic and sassy spirit – to Auckland with this new, Australasian-first boutique. I know New Zealand women will find AGATHA as much of a delightful discovery as their peers around the world have, and I look forward to seeing how New Zealand’s style and fashion leaders influence AGATHA in the years to come,” says AGATHA’s Asia-Pacific director Renaud Litre.
