Extended Offer and New Look for Bayfair
Extended Offer and New Look for Bayfair Shopping Centre
Bayfair Shopping Centre’s $15 million
refurbishment has progressed with the centre’s new
entrance and the first stage of the new-look retail offer
being unveiled last week (30 September).
A welcome new addition is home entertainment specialist, JB Hi-Fi. A first for the Bay of Plenty, JB Hi-Fi carries New Zealand’s biggest range of CDs, DVDs and games, plus a huge range of televisions, computers, cameras, iPods, sound systems and in-car entertainment.
JB Hi-Fi General Manager Adam Baldwin says Bayfair Shopping Centre was an appealing choice for JB Hi-Fi because it offers shoppers the best selection of stores in the Bay of Plenty. “Customers can expect a huge range, the best brands and cheap prices at JB Hi-Fi, and will be thrilled by the most exciting and unique retail experience in New Zealand.”
In addition to the popular purveyor of home entertainment will be bargain retailer The 123 Mart and Chii Health and Beauty.
“We are thrilled to have new retailers moving into the centre,” says Bayfair Shopping Centre Manager Andrew Wadsworth. “Our shoppers love variety and new retailers are always well-received, and the timing of the opening, just before Christmas, is opportune – when people are starting to get excited about the long-awaited summer months and the holiday season.”
Bayfair has also welcomed back many of its existing retailers, who either closed temporarily during the refurbishment or operated from a temporary location. Hardy’s Healthy Living, Tank Juice Bar, Subway, Silvermoon, Rodney Wayne, Blueberry and Pero’s Hairtek are now trading from their new locations in the centre.
“It is fantastic to see confidence amongst our retailers and many moving into new locations,” says Mr Wadsworth. “In particular, this is a positive move for jewellery retailer Silvermoon, who have chosen to upgrade from a kiosk format to a full store.“
Silvermoon Operations Manager Lee Milne says the new destination store gives shoppers even more choice in designer and fashion jewellery, including enticing options from A & C, Guess, Pandora and New Zealand designer Boh Runga. “Bayfair Shopping Centre delivers a unique shopping experience that caters for all. Silvermoon reflects that diversity, offering a large range of New Zealand made products and quality fashion jewellery from around the world.”
Whitcoulls and ANZ have also benefited from the refurbishment, donning new store frontages and creating an additional entry to their stores.
Not to be left behind are Nandos and Saaj Indian Cuisine, which are reopening at the end of October alongside new retailers The Coffee Club, Bed, Bath and Beyond and a fish & chip shop. The arrival of these stores, together with completion of the centre’s contemporary new facade will herald a new era for Bayfair, which will be celebrated in style at an official launch day in early November.
