Mr John Gilks, Chairman of the Fisher & Paykel Finance Group of Companies, is pleased to announce the appointment of Messrs Carlos da Silva and Hugh Rennie QC as independent directors to the non bank deposit taker Fisher & Paykel Finance Limited, as required by the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act 1989.
Carlos da Silva is the current Executive Chairman of Greenlea Group Limited and a former partner in Deloitte with over 25 years experience predominantly advising and engaging boards and CEO’s. His professional career focus has centred on corporate finance, corporate and trust structuring, and strategic advice to medium and large-sized companies.
Hugh Rennie QC is currently in practice as a barrister in commercial and public law. He has previously served as a chairman and director of a number of companies and trusts. He was a director of Fletcher Challenge, a director of BNZ Finance, and for 13 years a director of BNZ. He is currently a board member of the NZ Institute of Chartered Accountants and chairs its Audit and Risk Committee.
Both these new appointees bring solid experience and sound corporate governance skills and expertise to the board of Fisher & Paykel Finance Limited, adding further strength and guidance to the continuing success and ongoing development of the Fisher & Paykel Finance business.
