Regal King Salmon London bound

Media Release
Tuesday 14 September 2010 London - 1

Regal King Salmon London bound

New Zealand’s Regal King Salmon will be on the lips of 250 London VIPs tonight at high profile Air New Zealand event at the prestigious Saatchi Gallery in central London.

The specially prepared King Salmon fillets were flown to London over the weekend fresh from the New Zealand King Salmon farms in the Marlborough Sounds

The high profile event will see some 250 corporate, media and VIP guests dine on the best of New Zealand food and wines as Air New Zealand announces the in-flight offering on its new Boeing 777-300 ER aircraft.

NZ King Salmon’s general manager of sales and marketing Don Everitt says it’s a wonderful opportunity to be able to provide Regal Salmon for the who’s who of London.

“We do not currently export to the United Kingdom and had to pull a few strings to get our salmon into the country but we are pleased that we have been able to pull it off as this opens a lot of doors for us.”

It has been a strong year for Regal King Salmon – offshore sales received a major boost when the Icelandic volcano halted air traffic and northern Atlantic salmon supplies with it.

The Asian and Middle East hospitality industry turned to NZ to find an alternative supply and NZ King Salmon has retained much of the new business.

New Zealand King Salmon’s ambition is to export to the United Kingdom in the long-term.
