Harcourts’ website record encouraging sign
Harcourts’ website record encouraging sign for Spring
13 September 2010: Last month Harcourts’ New Zealand website attracted its highest ever number of unique browsers, providing another encouraging sign of a potential lift in sales in Spring, says Harcourts New Zealand CEO Hayden Duncan.
According to the latest statistics from Nielsen Market Intelligence, in August the Harcourts New Zealand website, www.harcourts.co.nz, received a record 221,236 unique browsers.
An increase of 19% on the same month last year and 2% higher than the previous record achieved in March, the volume of traffic received in August by the website of New Zealand’s largest real estate group is a good ‘lead indicator’ of activity ahead, Mr Duncan says.
“We’ve had anecdotal feedback from around our group about a lift in the volume of listings coming into the pipelines and when you couple that with the record level of traffic to our website it’s definitely encouraging.”
Mr Duncan says given the recent debate about foreign ownership of New Zealand property he thought it may interest people to know where the traffic to Harcourts website comes from.
“In August for example, a significant majority of the unique visits were from within New Zealand, followed well back by the United States, Australia and the United Kingdom.”
Mr Duncan says the ongoing success of Harcourts’ website, which recently won an Experian Hitwise Award and is consistently found by Nielsen Market Intelligence to be the most visited real estate brand’s website in the country, reflects Harcourts’ strong presence in the New Zealand market and the value of its website amongst the public.
“Harcourts has invested considerable time and money into ensuring our website is an industry-leader and we will continue to do so in order to ensure it continues to deliver the best solution for clients, potential clients and our team.”
