Unique Contribution To Canterbury Quake Relief Effort
Happy Kiwi Shop, an online supplier of spa pools and entertainment equipment, is running a unique TradeMe auction of one of its spa pools with, proceeds being used to purchase Domino’s Pizzas which to be delivered to earthquake shelters around Canterbury.
Ron Sproston, Director Happy Kiwi Shop, says he felt compelled to do something after watching the earthquake coverage.
“The images on our television screens from Canterbury have been shocking and I wanted to do something different to help. We’re just hoping to take Cantabrians’ minds off the quake for a few minutes and try to pick up people’s spirits with some hot pizza,” said Sprotson.
Ron and his team have hired a van and will make pizza deliveries in and around Christchurch on Thursday 16 September. While deliveries will be made to the Christchurch shelters, other deliveries will be made around the city to anyone Ron believes might need the morale boost.
The auction is set to close at 12.00am Monday 13 September. To place a bid, visit www.trademe.co.nz/Home-living/Outdoor-garden-conservatory/Swimming-pools-spas/Spas/auction-316501996.htm
