Clever use of technology has seen generator suppliers Webster Group grab the spotlight at the Westpac Enterprise North
Shore Business Excellence Awards.
The Northcote-based company won the Smales Farm Excellence in Technology Award impressing judges with their innovative
generator development. The independent judging panel commented on Webster Group’s clever customisation and highlighted
them as an excellent example of world class technology.
For more than six decades, the name Webster has been associated with highly skilled industrial electrical service.
Established in Auckland in 1939 to provide electrical service for shipping, Webster Group has evolved to offer “power
whenever and wherever it's needed” with branches in Tauranga, Napier, Christchurch and a head office in Northcote.
The company has provided power, warmth, light and sound to some of the largest companies, biggest projects and greatest
events in the country, some of which include: The America's Cup, KiwiRail, the Auckland Harbour Bridge, The Sheraton
Hotel, NZ Airforce and Navy and cement works.
Director Tom Webster is thrilled with the award. “While our generators have travelled the world to places as diverse as
Tokyo, Durban, Miami and Antwerp it is extremely rewarding to be recognised on our home turf, especially for our focus
