Ceiling Company Reaches New Heights
A cutting edge recycling programme has seen Rodney company, Troake Wall and Ceiling Services Ltd, win a major
sustainability award at the 2010 Westpac Enterprise North Shore Business Excellence Awards.
The Silverdale-based company took top honours in the Massey University Excellence in Sustainability Award after
impressing the judges with its waste management and recycling programme - an industry leading initiative - which
significantly reduced the amount of waste sent to landfill.
Troake Wall and Ceiling Services Ltd specialises in interior solutions and ceilings, and partitions for commercial and
residential buildings. The company also provides scaffolding systems and temporary fencing for construction sites in the
greater Auckland area.
Established in 1991, the company embarked on an aggressive growth strategy and marketing direction five years ago. The
resulting “one stop” solution to solving its clients’ problems is providing the business with real benefits with sales
increasing by 54 per cent in that time.
The judges also praised this winning company for an uncompromising commitment to its values.
“We aim to be market leaders in the areas of business that we operate in by providing our customers with the highest
levels of customer service,” says Vince Troake, general manager of Troake Wall and Ceiling Services Ltd.
“It’s not easy being green,” says Enterprise North Shore chief executive Terry Hoskins, “but companies now recognise
that sustainability is crucial for business and social responsibility. We applaud Troake’s innovative approach.”
This is the first year Rodney businesses were eligible to enter the Westpac Enterprise North Shore Business Excellence
Awards and Troake is one of two Rodney-based winners.
