Alcatel-Lucent makes senior New Zealand appointments
Alcatel-Lucent has announced four senior appointments to its New Zealand and Pacific Islands business.
The company appointed Mike Davies to General Manager Mobile. Mike joined from Vodafone New Zealand where he was General Manager of Network and Services for the past six years. Prior to that, he held a number of senior technology roles across Vodafone in New Zealand and Germany. Mike’s extensive technology career includes seven years at IBM in New Zealand and the UK and 15 years at Fujitsu.
Nick Brown has joined the company as Head of Communications and Brand. A communications specialist, Nick arrives at Alcatel-Lucent after six years with Telecom New Zealand where he worked in a variety of roles across the Xtra, Corporate Affairs and Retail divisions, his most recent position was Head of Public Relations and Sponsorship.
Richard Fraser returns to Alcatel-Lucent New Zealand as Solutions Director across New Zealand and the Pacific Islands. He will be based in Auckland. He has spent the last three years working with Alcatel-Lucent in Europe, most recently as Director Business Strategy and Development for digital media solutions. Previously, Richard has worked in both the media and telecommunications industries, including roles with Ogilvy Group and BT in the United Kingdom, Europe and New Zealand.
Steve Christman has joined as Radio Network Manager where he will lead the Radio Frequency team for Alcatel-Lucent’s mobile operations. Steve joins from Telecom New Zealand. He has close to 20 years experience in the mobile industry and has also worked for Vodafone New Zealand, Ericsson New Zealand and Orange UK.
Alcatel-Lucent CEO NZ & Pacific, Jyoti Mahurkar-Thombre, welcomed the new appointments.
“We are delighted to have local talent of this calibre joining our senior team. As we undertake key projects for a number of our New Zealand customers we will continue to recruit more specialists over the coming months,” said Ms Mahurkar-Thombre.
Alcatel-Lucent has more than 800 staff across New Zealand, with regional offices in Wellington, Auckland, Hamilton and Christchurch.
