Harveys Expands Auckland Network with New offices in Greenlane & Ponsonby
At a time when the property market is still experiencing a flat patch, Harveys Real Estate has strengthened its position in the Auckland region by opening two new offices in Greenlane and Ponsonby.
According to Vanessa Beirne, responsible for Business Growth at Harveys, Greenlane is a full-service office with eight sales representatives providing residential and business sales, commercial leasing and property management, while Ponsonby, under the ownership of Peter Parkin and son Nick in Pompalier Tce, is currently offering property management services but will soon move into residential and commercial sales.
The Greenlane office, located at 530 Gt South Rd in the Harp of Erin precinct and currently under-going an extensive fit-out, is owned by Michael Chen, who set up the Harveys Downtown office back in 2008, and will be managed by Francis Lai, an industry identity with 20 years of realty experience.
“While the market is still battling to come to terms with low listings and the effects of a particularly wet winter here in Auckland, we are delighted to step into Spring with two new offices to help us reach a wider real estate market,” says Vanessa.
And to demonstrate that the Greenlane office has hit the ground running with two commercial deals confirmed and one business sale pending, within two weeks of opening for business.
Both owner Michael Chen and manager Francis Lai are confident they have a focussed sales staff and ideal business model which will generate strong growth, particularly in the business sales and commercial leasing sector. “That is where we believe there is real potential for the business to develop,” says Francis.
That confidence is shared by Harveys director Ross Hunter who says Chen and Lai have already demonstrated they understand the nuances of the property market, and have the ability to overcome difficult times.
“We congratulate Michael on having the courage to open a new office at a time when other owners are battening down and have every confidence that with the proven ability Francis has demonstrated to bring in new business, they will do well in Greenlane,” says Hunter. “And Peter is quickly proving that the CBD has potential for growth in both property management and sales.”
