Samsung enters NZ notebook market

Samsung is launching its notebook range in New Zealand this month. It’s the first time the Korean manufacturer has marketed laptops here.

Samsung’s move in to New Zealand with its highly-respected notebook range has been widely anticipated.

The Korean company is one of the fastest growing PC vendors in the world. In Q1 2010 Samsung’s year-on-year growth in unit sales globally is 106 per cent.

The New Zealand range includes one of Samsung’s latest Q-Series notebooks as well as two netbooks and two R-Series models.

Samsung New Zealand’s Marketing Director, Rachael Cotton-Bronte, says the notebook range presents a great introductory line-up of high-performing machines at price points to suit most users.

The N150 and N220 Plus – Stylish netbooks for computing on the move

The N150 Plus and N220 Plus models are stunning netbooks designed for maximum portability while retaining an extended battery life. The N150 is a lightweight, ultra-durable machine perfect for users who are looking for simple, affordable web-surfing and mobile computing capabilities. The N150’s sleek tactile casing with smooth contours completes the package.

Samsung’s N220 is designed to keep users connected for extended periods with an island keyboard providing a comfortable user experience with less wrist strain and faster typing speeds. Both the N150 and the N220 have a 10.1” LED anti-reflective display with the N220 offering the larger capacity HDD of 250GB and the 66Wh battery providing a running time of up to 13.5 hours.

R-Series for rugged functionality

The R-Series R590 is designed with style in mind marrying fashion and function in a premium lifestyle-relevant device. The machine is ideal for the whole family – streaming music, editing web pages and even video-conferencing make the R590 a formidable computing and entertainment notebook.

The R540 on the other hand is crafted with rounded edges and ergonomic design to withstand rugged use by children and students. The strong Samsung Duracase provides reliability for sleek scratch-resistance. Trendy design and a long battery life ensure the kids – or anyone in the family – will appreciate the R540’s versatility and rugged good looks.

Samsung’s R-Series machines have 15.6” HD screens with the 16:9 aspect ratios ensuring extremely accurate content representation. Long battery life keeps users running for hours.

The Q330 – Lightweight style and functionality

The Q330 has been getting rave reviews[1] offshore for its great performance and battery life for users who need mobility, style and power together with an outstanding multimedia experience. At under 2kg it is Samsung’s lightest Q-Series notebook incorporating a 13.3” HD LED display and up to seven hours of battery life.

Samsung’s AllShare Technology

All laptops embody Samsung’s patented AllShare™ technology. AllShare enables users to wirelessly control, search, swap and play videos, pictures and music across their DLNA-certified[2] devices such as cameras, TVs, PCs and mobile handsets.
