FleetPartners signs deal with Gen-i

FleetPartners Drives Business Efficiencies with
Gen-i Mobile Solutions

Gen-i delivers outsourced technology and telecommunications services for increased operational productivity and cost efficiencies

Auckland, 25 August 2010 – FleetPartners has signed a three year ‘whole of business’ contract with Gen-i for the supply of its managed data, internet services and full outsourcing and management of its ICT environment - including data centre hosting, infrastructure and applications management - across New Zealand and Australia. The deal also includes voice services and mobile solutions based on the Telecom XT Mobile Network in New Zealand.

As the trans-Tasman fleet management and leasing company readies itself for the continued evolution of its business model and future growth, the partnership with Gen-i will see FleetPartners improve productivity and reduce costs, says FleetPartner’s strategic development director Richard Maddox.

“It was important for us to partner with a leading, trans-Tasman ICT provider for all our technology and telecommunications needs. We’ve had an excellent relationship with Gen-i and we are working closely with them to deploy technologies that will achieve significant performance gains across our New Zealand and Australian businesses,” says Maddox.

Renewing the existing outsourcing partnership with Gen-i demonstrates FleetPartners’ confidence in Gen-i as a trusted advisor and an integral part of its business operations adds Maddox.

“Gen-i has been our ICT department for the last three years and has been instrumental in delivering a technology roadmap that will support the transformation of the way we run our business and how we deliver our value proposition to customers.”

FleetPartners is also able to leverage New Zealand’s cost base and deliver significant cost benefits to the business across the Tasman by taking advantage of Gen-i’s well-established New Zealand-based service delivery infrastructure.

“ICT is not our business. Gen-i is available to us 24x7 in New Zealand and Australia. It invests and maintains its ICT skill set and expertise so that we don’t have to – and we don’t have all of the complications of maintaining an experienced IT team,” says Maddox.

Chris Quin, CEO of Gen-i Australasia, says FleetPartners’ contract renewal with Gen-i is a testament to both the strength of the relationship and Gen-i’s ability to deliver and manage the full spectrum of telecommunications and technology solutions.

“We are looking forward to delivering converged solutions that combine mobile and fixed technologies to help FleetPartners continue to drive its competitive advantage and deliver business outcomes now and in the future,” says Quin.

Across New Zealand and Australia, the new three year contract includes the supply of managed data, internet services, data centre hosting and ICT outsourcing (including infrastructure and applications), service desk, hardware and software procurement, and preferred provider of software solutions (including testing, development, support and architecture), application support, project management and Davanti business consulting.

In New Zealand, Gen-i also provides voice services, including fixed line access, mobile, tolls, audio and video conferencing and mobiles devices.
