Plunket winners in 2010 NetGuide Web Awards
Website plunket.org.nz has won Best Community
Site in the 2010 NetGuide Web Awards.
Plunket won against some tough competition from grownups.co.nz, a website aimed at those 50+, and 2008 and 2009 winners move2nz.com, a community site designed to help people moving to New Zealand. Winners are chosen by the general public and this year more than 200,000 people cast their votes in the 24 different categories.
The awards ceremony, held in Auckland last night, was hosted by comedian Ben Hurley, with the Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Hon Steven Joyce in attendance as special guest speaker.
“Plunket is thrilled to win this award and we’d like to say a BIG thank you to everyone who voted for us. We know being a parent isn’t a 9-5 job and we recognise the need to have information readily accessible for families as and when they need it”, says Mark Johnston, General Manager, Funding Marketing and Communications at Plunket.
“The internet is increasingly providing new ways for us to deliver support to parents in more relevant ways. Social media channels such as Facebook and Twitter are helping us to grow our community reach on a daily basis, and over the next 12-18 months we’re aiming to build significantly on our digital capability to deliver more of Plunket’s products and services via online and mobile channels.”
