Ken Harris, a Wellington based businessman, has been appointed CEO of the Employers’ Chamber of Commerce Central (ECCC) effective 1 October. The ECCC was created out of the merger between the Wellington Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Employers and Manufacturers Association (Central) last month.
Mr Harris currently manages NZL group (previously known as P Ports) a logistics company based in Tauranga and Auckland and is expected to retain an interest in this business.
Jo Bransgrove, President of the Employers’ Chamber of Commerce Central, said that the ECCC was delighted that Ken had been appointed to the role.
“Ken will bring extensive commercial experience to the job as well as a strong understanding of local and national business issues,” said Ms Bransgrove.
”He has previously served on the board of the Regional Economic Development Agency and as vice president of the Wellington Regional Chamber of Commerce.
“The ECCC provides support, training, events as well as international services and networking opportunities to businesses across central New Zealand.
“The ECCC Board would like to welcome Ken and we look forward to working with him as we help build business capability and success for the region and all of New Zealand,” Ms Bransgrove concluded.
