Racing for the awards finish line
Business awards finalists from across the North Shore and Rodney donned their ‘running gear’ last night as they prepared
to race to the awards finish line.
More than 280 local business people joined a marathon-themed Finalist Function at North Harbour Stadium as part of the
2010 Westpac Enterprise North Shore Business Excellence Awards.
Touted as a “refuelling station in the race”, the evening saw finalists, entrants and sponsors celebrate the success of
the awards season so far.
“Making it to this stage of the awards is a fantastic achievement in itself,” says Enterprise North Shore chief
executive Terry Hoskins. “It is an important milestone for our 37 finalist businesses that have proven that they
encapsulate excellence.”
Sponsor Westpac are anticipating a close finish to the awards race. “All these finalists are exceptional in their own
fields and offer inspiration within our business community,” says Ian Blair, general manager for business banking. “As

North Shore Mayor Andrew Williams opened the evening and acknowledged the wide spread of finalists as a “direct
reflection of the diversity and creativity we house right here in our local community”.
The 2010 Awards, now in their 13th year, attracted an incredible 144 entries from all corners of the North Shore and
Rodney.
The annual finalist function is a prelude to next month’s spectacular gala dinner, where all winners for 2010 will be
announced in front of more than 600 people at the North Shore Events Centre. Tickets for the prestigious 3 September
