Te Akau Coup Tops Winter Sale

As predicted Te Akau Coup provided today's New Zealand Bloodstock Winter Mixed Bloodstock Sale price highlight, fetching $210,000.
 
 Sale-topping mare Te Akau Coup

New Zealand Bloodstock agent Danny Rolston did the honours for Glen Burrows Bloodstock, who purchased the Group 2 Matamata Breeders' Stakes winning mare for a Queensland-based breeder. Today's leading vendor Curraghmore Stud offered Te Akau Coup through the ring with a positive pregnancy to exciting young sire Darci Brahma.  

Gordon Cunningham's Curraghmore Stud finished the day with 12 lots sold for total receipts of $492,000.

Also heading to Queensland is the second highest priced lot, the yearling High Chaparral half-sister to Dorabella and Crusoe. At lot 67 she was knocked down to Mrs L Huddy for $170,000.  

The day's proceedings concluded with the hammer falling on 82 lots for an aggregate of $1,206,500 and an average price of $7,834 up 53% on last year. The median marker was also considerably up finishing at $5,500 compared to 2009's $1,800. Clearance for the day rounded off at 77%. Click here to view today's passed lots.

Sights now turn to the South Island Sale of 2YOs & Mixed Bloodstock at the Canterbury Agricultural Park in Christchurch on this Friday 6 August from 10am.
