MEDIA RELEASE
7 July 2010

New Zealand’s Highest Sweet Shop Draws The Crowds!

Despite the rain and wind over the first weekend of the school holidays; families battled the elements heading to the Sky Tower to escape into New Zealand's Highest Sweet Shop where children entered a wonderland full of their favorite lollies, characters and prizes.

From 10.00am until 3.00pm daily children arriving for their taste of fun are being greeted with a free activity booklet and pencil before they take a trip up to the Sky Tower’s Main Observation Level where they are having great fun taking part in the ‘Sweet Test’. After answering ten questions in their activity booklet they continue their ascent to the Sky Tower’s highest viewing platform and the home of the Sweet Shop, the Sky Deck.

Children are being treated to three different stations: The Sweet Shop, where children can choose a selection of their favourite pick and mix lollies; Candy Floss station for a yummy pink treat; and the third station…. Four giant jars of lollies containing different amounts of sweets for a chance for the young visitors to guess the amount of sweets in each jar. Children can enter with the winners drawn and announced at the end of the school holiday period.*

Timmy (7) from Auckland’s North Shore said: “Wow it’s amazing, I love all these lollies!"

Sophie (10) from Papakura said. “My favorite things were the candy floss and Sky Tower made out of lollies."

Parents John and Barbra from Ponsonby also enjoyed the Sweet Shop. “The Sky Tower is a great place to bring the children during the school holidays. The activities, games and characters are lots of fun. New Zealand's Highest Sweet Shop is definitely the best thing our children will experience these school holidays."
