SBS Bank non-profit clubs to benefit further with Winter
edition of Star Investment
Special
Non-profit clubs and societies
on board with SBS Bank’s Star account have another chance
to get a bonus payment into their funds with the
re-introduction of the SBS Star Investment Special.
The Winter edition SBS Star Investment Special launched this week and allows investors taking out a new fixed term investment of six months or longer to nominate their chosen SBS Star account club or society to receive a bonus payment from SBS Bank.
SBS Bank General Manager Corporate Performance Lana Winders said the popularity and success of the SBS Star Investment Special limited edition offers had been exceptional since the concept was first introduced.
“We’ve been able to provide many direct benefits back to our members through SBS Star and we will find new ways to give back even more as the product continues to grow.
Mrs Winders said since the introduction of SBS Star, SBS Bank had injected $280,000 into the bank accounts of non-profit clubs and societies through the monthly prize draw. In addition to this, almost $16,500 has been paid out to 126 SBS Star account holders, as nominated by SBS Bank customers, through the Star Investment Special bonus payments.
“Recently we celebrated more than 1000 non-profit groups getting on board with SBS Star, which is almost double the number for the same period last year. The biggest incentive for every group that has a SBS Star account remains the monthly prize draw with the chance to win one of ten $1000 cash injections.
“We make it no secret that we are always looking for new and innovative ways of giving back to our customers and their communities and the SBS Star Investment Special is a way we can further reward the grass-roots community groups who support SBS Bank by bringing their banking business to us. Finding ways to bring benefits to the members who support us is exactly how a customer-owned community bank operates. “
Andrea Morrow, treasurer for the Southland branch of the RNZSPCA, said the support and direct benefits their charitable organisation had received from SBS Bank through their involvement with a SBS Star account had been fantastic.
“We couldn’t believe it when the team at SBS Bank made our Christmas by running a customer vote for the SBS Star charity of choice to receive the proceeds from the 2010 SBS Bank Golf Invitational. It was a tremendous help when the wonderful customers of SBS Bank voted to enable our charity to be the recipient of the $10,000 donation from their tournament.
“To top it all off we have been lucky enough to receive some additional financial support through the last SBS Star Investment Special. As the SPCA relies entirely on donations and additional bonuses like these to enable it to help the public and animals of Southland, we appreciate the support and know every little bit helps.”
