King Country Energy Says ETS Will Not Effect Price Freeze
King Country Energy wants to assure its domestic, farming and commercial customers the company’s electricity prices will not rise as a result of the introduction of the Emissions Trading Scheme this month.
“In April King Country Energy announced we have frozen our electricity prices for domestic, farming and commercial customers until at least October 2011. We are standing by that promise.
“We want to assure these customers the introduction of the Emissions Trading Scheme won’t effect our price freeze and they will continue to have pricing certainty for at least two winters,” stated Rob Foster, CEO of King Country Energy.
King Country Energy wanted to allay some customers’ concerns following a media report by TVNZ on 1 July that quoted Darryl Evans from Mangere Budget Advisory Service saying he was aware of 20% electricity price rises happening in Taumarunui.
“We are not sure where Mr Evans got these figures. All we can say is that the price freeze we announced in April still stands,” said Mr Foster.
King Country Energy is the leading electricity retailer serving customers throughout the greater King Country Region.
