Goodyear & Dunlop Tyres Appoint New General Manager



Wellington, 2 July, 2010 Mr David Morin has been appointed General Manager of Goodyear & Dunlop Tyres (New Zealand) Ltd, one of the country’s leading tyre marketers, wholesalers and retailers.

Currently Goodyear Asia Pacific B2B Director, Mr Morin will take up his new position on 2 August, leading the next phase of the company’s development and establishing Goodyear as the market leader.

He has 33 years experience in senior sales and marketing roles with Goodyear and
most recently was B2B Director for Goodyear Asia Pacific, located in Shanghai. In addition, he has been the President & Managing Director at Goodyear Philippines for the past six years.

Goodyear & Dunlop Tyres (Australian and New Zealand) CEO and Managing Director, Judith Swales, welcomed the new appointment.

“David has a demonstrated experience with leadership in people development, brand building and process orientation,” Ms Swales said.

“He brings a strong understanding of the tyre industry and customers, backed by the ability to transfer strategic and tactical knowledge and experience to new markets, which he has done extensively throughout his long year career with Goodyear.

“He has led the operational turnaround of Goodyear in the Philippines and other markets through an analytical, pragmatic, disciplined and credible leadership style.

"With his strong skills and experience, I am extremely confident David will make significant contributions to the success of our New Zealand tyre business.”
