Meridian selects HP for application support

Meridian selects HP for application support and development

Power generator and retailer Meridian has appointed HP as its prime applications support and development services provider.

Meridian General Manager Information and Communications Technology Glen McLatchie says the five-year agreement covers support and development services for all of the company’s business applications. The appointment of HP followed an extensive market selection process.

HP will be providing the applications services from its recently established Global Application Service Centre in Christchurch.

Transition to HP from Meridian’s many current providers will occur over the next quarter with HP taking responsibility for support from October.

“In a competitive industry, Meridian seeks innovation in services, process and therefore applications in order to drive growth. This requires high quality, cost-effective applications support and development,” said Gavin Greaves, New Zealand Country Manager for HP Enterprise Services.

"By working with the HP Best Shore applications delivery centre in Christchurch, Meridian will have access to world-class technology, best practices and the expertise of the global HP team to help them achieve their business objectives.”
