The Sweet Shop and 42BELOW hijack Cannes with ‘Private’
Later this month two international brands hailing from little old New Zealand will hijack the advertising and creative worlds’ most prestigious event, ‘Cannes Lions’.
Traditionally celebrated with a black tie gala, kiwi production company ‘The Sweet Shop‘ has joined forces with the world’s most awarded vodka brand, 42BELOW, to create a suitably hip party to celebrate and applaud those hard working creative souls - ‘Private’. Now we know advertising execs (and their mates) don’t normally need an excuse to party, but we thought we’d give them one anyway!
The Cannes Lions is in its 57th year, around 25 thousand entries from 90 counties compete for awards during the week long event on the French Riviera. It’s not quite as sexy or well known as it’s celluloid counterpart, but the parties are equally epic.
The Sweet Shop launched in New Zealand in 2001 and now has offices around the world with a reputation for being at the cutting edge of commercial creativity, it has produced films for brands like Nike, Coke, Heineken and Sony and has won numerous Cannes Lions.
Global vodka brand 42BELOW started in one man’s garage in Wellington, New Zealand before going on to be sold in the best bars and clubs around the world and becoming the world’s most awarded vodka.
Both are companies with their roots in New Zealand, and strong links to the international creative community. Two companies who don’t do anything by halves, or by the book, which makes them an unstoppable combination when it comes to navigating the treacherous terrain of the Croisette.
Strictly invite only, ‘Private’ will be held on the final night of the Lions, immediately after the awards are handed out. Its location will be disclosed only to those lucky enough to get a custom made wristband for entry.
The event’s most talked about party will feature a world renowned DJ and 42BELOW global vodka professor Jacob Briars will mix specially designed cocktails on the night. We don’t know why we think we can pull this off, but we think we can... and we promise not a single ice sculpture or luke warm canapé in sight.
