Guild welcomes election of Canterbury pharmacist as Vice President
The Pharmacy Guild of New Zealand has welcomed the election of Christchurch pharmacy owner, Karen Crisp, as Vice President.
The position takes effect after the Guild’s Annual General Meeting which will be held in Christchurch on 23 June.
“I am delighted to be elected Vice President of the Guild,” says Karen. “The Guild is the only organisation with the funds, capacity, expertise and relationships throughout the sector to effectively represent its members nationally. As a member of the Board my vision for community pharmacists is for them to be fully utilised as medicines experts within the primary health care team.
“I support the development of an invigorated Pharmacy Services Agreement which appropriately remunerates for new services. These services will be supplied collaboratively with other primary health care professionals to improve the health of our communities.”
Karen owns and operates two pharmacies in Christchurch with her husband who is also a pharmacist. She is actively involved in the Canterbury Community Pharmacy group, and the Aged Care work stream of the Canterbury Clinical Network, and is a Board member of Christchurch After Hours Pharmacy.
