Countdown to Companies Office changes
Countdown to Companies Office changes
In just a few weeks, the Companies Office will replace its existing IT system with a new purpose-built platform 'Enterprise'. This change is significant to New Zealand business as the new site will offer more customisable services that cater for a company’s specific compliance and corporate needs. There are also new procedures and processes clients will encounter.
The new Companies Office site will launch on 28 June 2010.
Justin Hygate, Group Manager of Business Registries at the Ministry of Economic Development, said “We designed Enterprise to ensure that our services support the needs of business in this new decade. We have also taken the opportunity to make some procedural changes, including adopting the igovt logon, and making changes to our annual return reminders.”
The companies register will close at 5:00pm Thursday 24 June 2010 and reopen at 8 am on Monday 28 June 2010. This closure is required for the deployment of the new system. A reduced range of services will still be available from the Companies Office over this period.
Hygate noted this is the minimum time required for the new IT system to be implemented and should cause minimal disruption to businesses, as it mostly occurs over a weekend.
Hygate also noted that navigation on the new site will be a different experience for clients. “We are confident our clients will prefer the new navigation – they should find it more like other business websites,” he said.
Other entities operated by the Companies Office, such as the new Financial Service Providers Register (FSPR) and the Incorporated Societies register, will be moved to the new platform over the balance of 2010.
