Simply Energy implements electricity supply solution for major airlines
Wellington, 25 May 2010 – Simply Energy has successfully implemented an electricity supply and billing solution to the major international airlines connecting to Auckland International Airport (AIA) landing gates.
The Board of Airline Representatives (BARNZ) representing the airline companies was tasked with evaluating an electricity retail supply arrangement that could accurately meter and reconcile billing by individual gate and ground time.
Simply Energy worked with BARNZ and Auckland Airport to understand the supply, system and billing requirements. Simply Energy was then able to coordinate with BARNZ, Auckland Airport and a Wellington based IT provider to successfully implement a bespoke electricity supply and system solution.
Murray Dyer a Director of Simply Energy reports that the electricity supply solution went live at the end of 2009 and has been successfully operating for several months, “we have now turned our attention to some broader cost saving opportunities”.
John Beckett, Executive Director of BARNZ commented that “Simply Energy has been very responsive and customer focused from the start and we are very happy with the solution they have put together”.
John went on to say that “with so many diverse issues affecting airlines having Simply Energy take care of the electricity supply issues was immensely helpful, they have kept us very informed right the way through and continue to look for further opportunities to reduce the airlines electricity and related costs”.
