Food, wine and chauffeur-driven skiing with Wanaka Lakehouse

LAKE WANAKA, New Zealand (May 25, 2010) – During the ski season, Wanaka Lakehouse is offering all exclusive bookings of the luxurious eco lodge a degustation dinner accompanied by local Central Otago wines chosen by winemaker host, Michael Hasler. In addition, guests can take advantage of Wanaka Lakehouse’s free chauffeur service to any of the region’s four world-class ski areas.

Wanaka Lakehouse is a distinctive après-ski retreat ideal for groups or families as well as couples looking for an exclusive getaway. Its traditional alpine design features a warm hand-crafted wood interior, complimented by antique furniture, but what sets it apart is its unique chemical-free pool in the heart of the living area.

The emerald-tiled swimming pool is not only a spectacular feature of the lodge, it also provides much of the heating and combined with the comfortable surroundings generates an air of tranquillity and warmth that envelops guests.  Children can play in this outstanding indoor feature while being safely monitored by their parents from the comfort of the main living area.

After relaxing in the pool or adjacent sauna after a day up the mountain, guests can create their own pizzas in the soapstone pizza oven above the roaring fire or make use of the lodge’s in-house chef for memorable dinner featuring local produce and award-winning wines.

The three ensuite bedrooms are beautifully appointed with either four-poster or superking-sized beds and the finest natural linen. As an eco lodge, Wanaka Lakehouse is chemical free and features shielded electrical wiring that ensures a peaceful deep night’s sleep.
