Car fumes make way for clean green native plants at auction
More than 3,500 plants, trees and shrubs
will be sold at No Reserve by Turners Auctions Palmerston
North this Saturday, 15th May.
Jeff
Braid, from Turners Auctions says the massive No Reserve
auction is expected to attract hundreds of bidders who are
interested in acquiring top quality plants at a fraction of
the original price.
“We are letting
the buyers decide what they want to pay, so it is perfect
picking for bargain hunters. Gardeners, farmers, home owners
or anyone wanting premium quality plants should come along
this Saturday to see what’s available,” says Jeff.
The plants are divided into 99 lots,
which include everything from native Rimu and Kowhai trees,
Silver Tree Ferns, flax bushes and non-natives such as
Camellias, Magnolia and Aloe.
Jeff says the total retail value of the items up for auction on Saturday is more than $30,000 and describes it as one of the biggest plant auctions Turners has ever managed.
“Thanks to the
sheer size of this auction, I’ve had interest from
a wide range of potential bidders, including
high-country farmers, lifestylers, landscape gardeners, city
home-owners, and even green-fingered elderly who live in
small units.”
The full list of plants
can be found here and viewing prior to the auction is
welcomed between 9am – 6pm on Thursday and Friday and
again on the morning of the auction.
The auction will be held at 1.30pm, at Turners Auctions Palmerston North branch, Corner John F Kennedy Drive and Fairs Road, Milson, Palmerston North.
